Privacy Compliance Kit

As you may be aware transitional arrangements mean loss adjusters must comply with the National Privacy Principles (NPPS) by 21 December 2002. If you have not already done so you will be required to have in place a comprehensive privacy compliance system by this date.

The Institute in conjunction with our legal advisers, Gadens Lawyers, have made available to members a do-it-yourself Privacy Compliance Kit.

This Kit has been specially tailored to meet the needs of loss adjusters.

The Kit (available on CD- Rom or floppy disk) contains:

• plain English instructions on how to complete the Kit;
• an interactive assessment tool;
• all the legal documentation you need for compliance (including a privacy policy, a privacy statement and a privacy disclosure statement);
• a plain English compliance manual;
• privacy compliance procedures;
• compliant handling procedures;
• summary of Federal privacy laws; and
• an explanation of the NPPs.

Similar kits are produced by Gadens and retail for $995 (incl GST). The Loss Adjuster Privacy Compliance Kit will costs only $395 + GST.

To order your Kit please complete the attached form and return it to the Institute together with your cheque or credit card details. A tax invoice will be dispatched with the Kit.

The Institute has also negotiated that members who purchase the Privacy Compliance Kit will be entitled to a brief telephone enquiry with the author of the Kit to answer specific legal enquiries in relation to the Kit. This offer can be used up to 3 months after the purchase of the Kit. You may also enquire about any technical issues you encounter as needed.

Please note that the Kit runs on a PC (standalone or networked) with an operating system of Windows 95 or higher.
